Chinchilla Fur Vest
Chinchilla in its natural grey, worked in chevron bands.
The piece
Chinchilla is the softest fur there is, and the least forgiving to work. This vest is assembled from many small skins, matched by hand and set in chevron bands so the natural shading moves across the body. Worn open, it frames. Worn closed, it holds.
The materials
- Chinchilla
- The densest and softest of all furs, and the most delicate to work. Skins are small, so every piece is assembled from many, matched one against the next.
How it is made
01 · The conversation. Every piece begins with its wearer. Size, fit and finish are agreed before anything is cut.
02 · The selection. Skins and leathers are chosen and matched by hand for colour, density and direction.
03 · Cut and construction. The pattern is laid out on the block. Each panel is cut, joined and shaped by hand at the atelier.
04 · Lining and final press. The piece is lined, finished and pressed. Then inspected, one last time, before it leaves the house.

This piece is worked in chinchilla. Every stage takes time. Every detail requires attention. Precision is not just in the finish. It is in the process itself.
