Swakara Jacket with Stretch Leather
Swakara with its watered pattern, cut close with stretch leather.
The piece
Swakara lies flat and light, with a moiré pattern no two pelts share. Here it is laid out by eye so the pattern reads continuously across the body, and set on a stretch leather waist, cut like a corset, so the jacket follows every movement.
The materials
- Swakara
- A flat, moiré pelt with a natural watered pattern. Light, close to the body and rare. The pattern is laid out by eye so it reads continuously across the seams.
- Stretch leather
- Leather with a measure of give, cut to follow the body closely and move with it.
How it is made
01 · The conversation. Every piece begins with its wearer. Size, fit and finish are agreed before anything is cut.
02 · The selection. Skins and leathers are chosen and matched by hand for colour, density and direction.
03 · Cut and construction. The pattern is laid out on the block. Each panel is cut, joined and shaped by hand at the atelier.
04 · Lining and final press. The piece is lined, finished and pressed. Then inspected, one last time, before it leaves the house.
